Dry disconnect couplings – general information

Dry disconnect couplings are intended for spill free (or minimum spill) connection of industrial systems and flexible loading/unloading hose assemblies. Both halves of the coupling have valves that are open and allow flow when the coupling is connected. When the coupling halves are separate, the valves are closed preventing leakage of substances from the system. Depending on the design of the coupling, the valves close automatically upon disconnection, or manually – the valves must be first closed and only then the coupling can be disconnected.
These spill free couplings conform to the recent requirements for safety, environmental protection and reliability, so important when hazardous, toxic or expensive fluids are transferred. The dry disconnect couplings are widely used in road, rail, marine, air transport and in the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

DDC, DGC and DAC couplings

The most popular of all dry disconnect couplings. DDC coupling (Dry Disconnect Coupling) is a standard industrial all-rounder. Compatible with couplings from different manufacturers. A coupler (hose unit) and an adapter (tank unit) are fitted with poppet valves. Connection by pushing the coupler over the adapter and turning the swivel head of the coupler to lock the two units together. Sizes from 1″ to 8″ (DN25 to DN200), with a distinctive plug outer diameter (56, 70, 105, 119, 164, 238 and 272 mm).

DDC couplings comply with ATEX, ADR, RID, TDT, Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. The couplings in sizes DN50 ÷ DN100 conform to NATO STANAG 3756 standard.

DDC couplings are made of: aluminium, brass, AISI 316 steel, Duplex steel, PEEK, PVDF, Hastelloy, titanium, with suitable sealing. Working pressure, depending on the diameter and material, from 6 to 25 bar. Connection: BSP female thread and PN, ASA, T™A flanges.

DGC couplings (Dry Gas Coupling) are intended for conveying gases, especially LPG; sizes range from 1″ to 8″.

DAC couplings (Dry Aviation Coupling) 2.1/2″ (DN65) designed for jet fuel loading and unloading; compliant with NATO STANAG 3105 and ISO 45 standards.

DRY-DIS TR couplings

DRY DIS TR series, spill free, dry disconnect couplings are common in the chemical, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industry. They conform to the stringent requirements for safety, environmental protection and reliability in the transfer of hazardous, toxic or expensive fluids. DRY DIS couplings comply with ATEX, ADR, RID, TDT, Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. Coupling material – AISI 316/316Ti stainless steel or brass. The hand wheel of the coupler is made of polypropylene. Sizes from 1″ (DN25) to 4″ (DN100). Both parts: adapter (tank unit) and coupler (hose unit) with poppet valves that close off immediately when disconnected. Connection by pushing the coupler over the adapter and turning the swivel head of the coupler to lock the two units together. Working pressure up to 25 bar. BSP female thread connections. A version with a code feature prevents miscoupling of the coupler with the adapter intended for a different medium.

DRY LINK couplings

DRY-LINK couplings meet the highest requirements for safety and functionality. Spill free – the amount of a spilled medium is not measurable. The unique construction includes two butterfly valves, in the coupler and in the adapter. The discs of the valves, parallel to the flowing medium when the coupling is connected, do not disturb the flow or affect the pressure. Perfect for high viscosity fluids. Connection by sliding the coupler onto the adapter, pulling down the lock and opening the valve. The safety interlock prevents accidental uncoupling. Coupling material – AISI316 stainless steel or special alloys, Alloy 20 or Hastelloy C. Sizes from 1″ to 3″. Working pressure from 8,3 bar to 14,3 bar – depends on the size, vacuum up to 711 mm Hg. Available with BSP thread, flange, weld-in, TRICLOVER connections and in special, polished, hygienic version. Used in chemical, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.

DRY-MATE couplings

DRY-MATE couplings are user-friendly dry disconnect couplings for safe and virtually spill free connection of systems. Ball valves in both halves of the coupling ensure totally smooth, undisturbed flow. Connection of the units by locking cam levers similar to the cam arms of CAMLOCK couplings. Opening the valves automatically, mechanically secures the cam levers so that the halves of the coupling cannot be separated. The valves cannot be opened when the coupling is apart. DRY-MATE couplings are available in two versions: DRY-MATE SS – made of AISI316 stainless steel – in sizes DN25 and DN38, and DRY-MATE PP – made of glass fibre reinforced polypropylene – in size DN38. BSP and NPT female thread connections. Working pressure up to 7 bar.

DRY-MATE couplings are used in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture (plant protection products). Not suitable for gases.
